One of the primary worries when installing a new boiler is how long it would take. In this blog, our heating engineers have gone through the entire process for you!
How long does it take to fit a new boiler?
Installation of a new boiler typically takes 1-3 days. However, this may even take longer based on several factors such as if the boiler has to be relocated from one room to another. A basic installation on the other hand can be completed within a day.
Other factors that can affect how long it takes to install a brand new boiler can be based on the kind of boiler you presently have if you're switching to a different type, whether you want to move your boiler, and whether any extra work, such as installing entirely new pipes, is required.
How long does it take to replace a combi boiler?
(4-6 hours)
The easiest and fastest task for a qualified heating engineer is to replace an existing combi boiler with a new combi boiler in the same area. This typically takes one day, if everything goes according to plan. The process will involve the heating engineer installing the new boiler, removing the old one and installing a new thermostat if needed.
When the task is over, they will clean up the debris, discard the old boiler, and recycle the packaging from the new boiler.
How long does it take to replace a system boiler with a combi boiler?
(Up to 2 days)
Due to the additional work involved, such as removing the water tank that won't be needed anymore and any new pipes, switching from a standard or system boiler to a combi boiler would likely take longer than a like-for-like swap.
Additionally, the installers must obtain access to the heating system, which may require lifting flooring and requiring subsequent remedial work.
